An elderly woman has been involved in a car accident with the convoy of William and Kate, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
William and Kate were travelling from their residence in Windsor to London when their convoy hit into a woman who is believed to be 83.
Kensington Palace said the royal couple were “deeply concerned and saddened” and had been in touch with the woman.
An IOPC spokesman said: “Our staff attended the scene of the incident and after careful consideration, we have launched an independent investigation.
“Our immediate thoughts are with the injured woman and her family and those affected by the incident.”
