The United Kingdom government have given the French a final warning that they will not budge on fishing rights. It comes as the French and EU negotiators would like unrestricted access to British fishing, post transition period.
As it currently stands, the UK is in the common fisheries policies. Essentially, this means that the UK has to allow the French and other EU nations access to its fishing waters. The UK has insisted it will not allow this to happen, as the UK is an independent coastal state.
The EU has been left red faced as the UK has said that it will not allow the EU to dictate it’s own fishing rules and regulations. The United Kingdom is set to fully leave the EU at the end of the year.
