The Team Boris cabinet are holding an emergency meeting at 17:00 BST, as the Prime Minister may indicate that he would like to call a General Election. It comes as Remainers threaten to thwart the will of the British people, by blocking the UK from leaving the EU.
This emergency meeting comes as the remainer MPs propose a bill that will force the Government to seek another extension to article 50. Although, this could be all in vain, as Boris has made it clear the UK is leaving on the 31st of October, deal or no deal.
The legislation to leave the European Union, namely the European Union Withdrawal Act 2019, has been approved and had Royal Assent, this means that the United Kingdom Parliament’s both Houses have approved for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union, but, Remainers are attempting to disrupt this.
It would be dangerous for the Conservative party to hold a general election before the 31st of October. It’s hoped that the United Kingdom is able to leave the EU before the Remainers can muscle together and inhibit the general will of the British people, which is to leave the European Union.
Boris has made it clear, the country wants Brexit delivered – therefore this must be done by the 31st of October, otherwise, the Brexit Party will thrash the conservatives within a general election.
