Parliament has backed a bill that will stop a future Boris Government from suspending Parliament to force through a no-deal Brexit.
Many have called the move a disgrace as many Conservatives MPs defy a three party whip. The Conservative rebels are siding with the Labour Party.
The United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union in 2016. The UK was meant to leave the EU in March, but it since hasn’t, mainly due to the fact that Theresa May could not get her surrender treaty through Parliament.
This bill that MPs have supporter will stop Boris prologuing Parliament, a piece of parliamentary tools that Government normally uses before a Queens’ speech.
It’s not clear yet if Boris would’ve actually suspended Parliament to force through a no deal situation, most say it was unlikely, therefore, realistically, it doesn’t make a difference.
