The United Kingdom’s monarchy has released a statement outlining key changes to the United Kingdom’s monarchy. It comes as the UK braces itself for a corona virus social “lockdown”, which will see many people opting to social isolate themselves from work, family and friends.
The United Kingdom Monarchy is no different. The Queen has revealed that her Royal engagements have been postponed. This means that the Queen will not carry out many of her usual duties as the Monarch of the United Kingdom. Subsequently, the Queen will be isolating herself away in one of her private estates, to ensure that she does not contract the COVID-19 disease.
The United Kingdom will now implement key social isolation measures to decrease the peak of the virus so that the NHS can cope. As it currently stands, the UK is well prepared to deal with it and there will be no shortages in food or medicine supplies. The UK government advises people to work from home if possible, limit social outings and continue vigorous hand washing procedures.
